Since Cork City was founded by St Finbarr over 1, 000 years ago it has grown from a trading merchant city to a cosmopolitan vibrant 21st century city of today. The city, situated on the banks of the river Lee, is home to 123, 000 people. It is located on the South West coast of Ireland and is the 2nd largest city in the Republic of Ireland.Cork is a university city with a total student population in excess of 25, 000. Cork English Academy is located in the city centre in Clarkes Bridge House a modern building with ceiling to floor windows flooding each classroom with natural light. In addition to providing you with the best in language training, we offer a varied and interesting social activities programme to give you the opportunity to practice your language skills in real situations. We also offer carefully selected accommodation options in locations close to the Academy.

Cork English Academy offers courses in General English, Business English, English for Professionals, Exam preparation , Junior Short Stays, English and Work Experience, School Integration and a Family Package with lessons taking place in groups or on an individual basis.

2 weeks booking minimum with start dates every Monday throughout the year except where the school is closed due to bank holidays where the school re-opens on the Tuesday.

Housing/Accommodation Info

Our host families are carefully selected, friendly local families who are happy to welcome you into their home. You will have a single or shared room with breakfast and evening meal included. Most family homes are located just outside the city centre and so you may need to take public transport to and from the school. Average distance between the school and host families is 25 minutes (maximum 30) by bus. All host families are on a city bus route. Transfers to and from Cork airport on your arrival and departure are also included. If you would prefer to live more independently during your stay in Cork you can choose to share an apartment in the city centre with one to four others. You will have a private bedroom with shared living and kitchen areas and a shared bathroom (en-suite bathrooms sometimes available). All accommodation is between 5 and 25 minutes walk from school, average 10 minutes by bus. There is internet connection in all apartments and Wi-Fi available in the majority of apartments.
