Our language center is located on the campus of the University of Arkansas, which is situated in the lovely, dynamic city of Fayetteville in the forested hills of the Ozark Mountains. This region has repeatedly been chosen in major surveys as one of the best places to live in the United States, having all the modern conveniences combined with the natural beauty of lakes and forests. The world headquarters of Walmart and Tyson Foods are located here, and there are many large shopping centers and international restaurants to be enjoyed.
ESL Program Introduction
SILC is an intensive ESL program which specifically prepares international students for American universities - including English language mastery, research skills, academic writing, and cultural orientation. Founded in 1990, the program has 6 levels of courses from elementary to advanced. Our faculty are experts in ESL, some with more than 20 years of experience teaching international students. Graduation from this program allows admission to the University of Arkansas without a TOEFL score. SILC has an excellent host family program, American conversation partner program, and offers interesting social and recreational activities to our students every week.
