ESL Program Introduction
The Accelerated English Language Program is an intensive English language summer program. This American-culture immersion experience for international high school students balances academic rigor with meaningful summertime adventures. Students are prepared to better comprehend and speak English through demanding classes and activities organized into weekly educational themes centered around different points of American Culture. Students go beyond learning English to developing a confidence in effectively using the lanugage. Couple this new found confidence with fun, friendships, and the backdrop of a beautiful summer in New England and you have an ideal environment for success. Special Courses & Features
Residential Life: From the time of arrival to the US until the time they wave goodbye, each student is provided with outstanding supervision and support. A comprehensive teaching and activity staff lives among students in dormitory houses and is fully engaged in day-to-day activities. The team provides for student welfare for the duration of the program. A squad of New Hampton School student interns act as liaisons for AELP students and staff in another effort to provide comfort and support. Students are assigned a roommate of a different native language when possible to promote the use of English as a common language. The living accommodations are relatively roomy, naturally sunny and come equipped with a desk, bed, bureau and closet space for each student.
