School Introduction

Eastern Mennonite University, a fully accredited Christian liberal arts institution, is located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. EMU attracts 1, 400 students of diverse cultures and faiths from across the United States and around the world. The Association of International Educators (NAFSA) recently selected Eastern Mennonite University as one of six schools across the country to be featured in a major report on international education. EMU was selected for the report based on its longstanding commitment to international learning. Many different degrees are offered on our campus including
computer sciences, business, education, health sciences. We also have four graduate programs and a seminary.

ESL Program Introduction

The IEP provides 20 hours per week of instruction in listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar. There are also classes in American culture, current issues or Bible. Many opportunities to practice English are provided by field trips and social events. THe IEP teachers are certified to teach English and have had experience in other countries.
